Need a distraction-free space with other scholars to work on your scholarly projects? Join us for summer scholarship retreats on Wednesdays at the JMU Farm. Lunch, snacks and coffee/tea will be provided. Please include any accessibility needs including dietary restrictions in your profile (see below).

Registration:

Registration will open approximately 30 days prior to the scheduled retreat date and will close the Monday the week prior to each scheduled retreat date (10 days). Please refer to the event page for the registration window for each retreat date. Space is limited!

If the session is full, you may add yourself to the waitlist. You will be contacted by CFI staff via email to complete a survey to indicate your time preferences for the retreat. Only those who complete the survey will be contacted via email if space becomes available.

Select Time Blocks:

Enroll yourself with the purple button above (adds the event to your cart). You will sign in with your JMU eID and password and submit, then complete the program registration. Program Dates: May 31, June 14 & 28, July 12 & 26.

We are offering an am writing block, lunch and an afternoon writing block. Register for the entire day, or just one of the writing blocks and/or lunch. However, you must select at least one writing block option other than the meal with your registration.

Select the options you plan to attend for the morning writing block (9-12), lunch (12-1) and/or the afternoon writing block (1-4) through the bullets or dropdown menu; save to cart, check out, then complete the registration.

Cancellations:

If you find that you are unable to attend a scheduled event prior to the registration deadline, please return to your "CFI Program Account" and cancel your registration. If it is after the registration deadline, please email cfi@jmu.edu as early as possible to avoid being waitlisted for future events. We value your interest in this popular writing retreat; however, due to the high demand of faculty interest for this program, a registered participant who doesn't attend one of these scheduled events without prior notification to CFI may result in being waitlisted for future writing retreats this semester. We appreciate your respect for our programs and others that wish to attend.
